The 'Safe Management of Healthcare Waste' guidance published by the Department of Health (2006) provides a national colour-coded system for the management and disposal of sharps and other healthcare wastes. The entire Sharpsguard range comes with colour-coded lids and labels for ease of appropriate segregation and consignment, leading to good waste management and compliance with best practice and the current regulations.
